Celebrating Earth Day with Stuckey Subaru

Every April 22nd, Earth Day serves as a reminder of our responsibility to protect the planet. At Stuckey Subaru, this isn’t just a once-a-year event; it is a core value rooted in the Subaru Love Promise.

Subaru has long been a leader in environmental conservation, and we are proud to bring those national initiatives home to our local communities.

“As a longtime Subaru driver with a background in sustainability, I’ve always valued the brand’s genuine commitment to the environment. My love of the brand is more than just the reliability of the vehicles they produce; it’s about their initiatives, like Subaru Loves the Earth. I feel a connection because our values align.” Christie Clancy, Stuckey Automotive Marketing Director and faithful Subaru customer.

Subaru’s Commitment to a Greener Future

Subaru has long been a leader in automotive sustainability. Through the Subaru Loves the Earth initiative, the goal is to leave a smaller footprint and a larger impact.

Did you know Subaru’s key efforts include:

Stuckey Employee Geoffrey Biddle and his first NEW Subaru.

  • Zero-Landfill Manufacturing: All Subaru vehicles are built in plants that have achieved zero-landfill status—meaning 100% of manufacturing waste is recycled, reused, or turned into energy.
  • TerraCycle® Partnerships: They work with TerraCycle to collect and recycle hard-to-process items—like snack wrappers, disposable cups, and coffee pods—that would otherwise end up in local landfills.
  • The Solterra Revolution: The introduction of the all-electric Subaru Solterra allows drivers to explore the beauty of Pennsylvania’s mountains, valleys and trails with zero tailpipe emissions.

How We’re Making an Impact in Central PA

Sustainability is local. And we’re proud to have hybrid and EV vehicles across our dealerships in Central PA. Whether it’s the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or the 2026 Ford Escape ST-Line Select – our teams are here to help you find the perfect fit that not only helps you save money, but to also help our communities be more sustainable.

“It doesn’t stop with purchasing a vehicle, you can also ‘go green’ when you are maintaining your vehicle. One of the most effective ways to be "green" is through proper vehicle maintenance. A well-maintained vehicle —with clean air filters, properly inflated tires, and efficient engine performance—burns less fuel and reduces emissions. It’s a simple, honest way to do your part while protecting your investment.” -- Spencer Nicholson, Fixed Operation Director

“We’re proud to work with partners that help us recycle our tires, oil and other materials in our service centers.” Wes Lloyd, Service Director.

Our commitment to Our communities

Stuckey Automotive’s core values align with Subaru – that's why we are a proud Subaru dealership. Our team has renovated the 2nd ward park in Altoona, PA, and volunteered at the St Vincent de Paul Monastery in Hollidaysburg, PA – a local garden initiative in Blair County.

On April 24, Stuckey Subaru is walking the walk and has partnered with Subaru for Subaru Loves the Earth -- hosting an event where we’re giving away trees to Subaru customers at our headquarters in Duncansville, PA. We know that trees can help sequester carbon, produce oxygen, filter air pollutants, prevent soil erosion, and manage stormwater runoff. And, be a beautiful asset to your home.
